Founder
Hi, I’m Chelsea! A native Arizonian with a deep love for epic love stories, stunning desert landscapes, and weddings that are anything but ordinary. You’ll catch me tearing up at movies, heartwarming dog videos, and—without fail—the Father/Daughter dance. My superpowers? Magnetic energy (hello, Manifesting Generator!), a laser focus on details, and an unstoppable passion for top-tier client experiences.
I founded Black Tie Optional because I knew there were couples out there, just like me, who wanted a wedding that broke the mold—something breathtakingly unique that embraced Arizona’s natural beauty in a way their guests had never seen before. That passion turned into a mission: to create unforgettable, deeply personal wedding experiences for nearlyweds who crave something extraordinary.

From the big-picture vision to the tiniest finishing touches, I love bringing weddings to life in a way that feels effortless, exciting, and most importantly—fun!
Being part of a couple’s love story is such a special honor, and I take pride in being both the creative visionary and the behind-the-scenes problem solver. My goal is to make the wedding planning process as stress-free as possible so you can truly soak in every moment, from "Yes!" to "I do."

After graduating from Grand Canyon University with a degree in Business Management and Marketing I realized how much I missed planning events. My absolute favorite part is seeing all of our hard work and planning come together on the big day, seeing the couple soaking up the joy and beauty of the moment. While searching for inspiration, I came across a stunning editorial shoot by Black Tie Optional on the cover of Arizona Bride Magazine—and I instantly fell in love. Little did I know, that moment would eventually lead me to become part of this incredible team!
I thrive in the details, from organizing logistics to supporting our planners in creating seamless and unforgettable celebrations. With a passion for personalized, beautifully executed events, I love being behind the scenes, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Dedication, hard work, and creativity drive me, and I feel so lucky to be surrounded by a team that shares the same commitment to making wedding dreams come to life.
