When Arizona Bride Magazine approached us to plan their 2023 awards gala, it was difficult to hold back from jumping with joy! The magazine had recently relaunched in Arizona under a new publisher, Iron Diamond Media, and this would be their first major “hoorah” back in the Arizona wedding industry. Since their team is 100% remote and based all over the country, they needed an Arizona event planner that could execute this grand vision, someone who knew the perfect local professionals to call on, and could bring together the best wedding vendors in the industry. They described their wants for the event as being at a quintessentially “Arizona” location, with a black and white theme, but the specifics they left up to Black Tie Optional. We chose to host the event at Wrigley Mansion because of its rich history as an Arizona landmark and its impeccable view of Phoenix. It also boasts a classic, old-world luxury with a lush, modern garden vibe that would instantly elevate the event. When it came to the black and white design, we drew inspiration from a classic, black tie wedding vibe and wanted to bring in elements that would engage guests and keep them talking for years to come. From the giant Arizona Bride Magazine photo booth, to the hanging floral installation on the ceiling of the awards room, to the tiniest details like custom stir-sticks in the champagne glasses handed to Best Of winners, it was important to us that we “WOW” Arizona’s wedding professionals with a night they would never forget.
